Buy or sell a domain with crypto escrow

The buyer's crypto is held until the domain or website is really theirs, and the seller can see the money is there before handing anything over.

The short answer

Fund an escrow deal first, then the seller transfers the domain or website. The buyer confirms receipt only once it shows in their own registrar or hosting account, and the seller is paid after that.

How it works

  1. Agree what is included. Domain only, or also the site files, content, hosting, email and social accounts? Write it all in the deal description.
  2. Buyer funds the deal. The buyer opens a deal with the seller's email and the price, then deposits the crypto shown on the deal page.
  3. Seller transfers. The seller moves the domain to the buyer's registrar account, or gives the transfer code, and hands over files and logins.
  4. Buyer checks, then confirms. Once the domain shows in the buyer's own account, click "I received it" and the seller is paid.

Before the buyer confirms

  • It is in your account. The domain is listed in your own registrar account, not just "on its way".
  • You control every login. Change each password you were given (registrar, hosting, admin, email) first.
  • Everything listed arrived. Files, database, content and any extras written in the deal.
  • Let the transfer finish. Registrar transfers can take several days. Wait for it rather than confirming early.

What it costs

One flat 2% fee, paid by the buyer on top of the price. On a $1,000 domain, the buyer sends $1,020.00 in crypto and the seller receives $1,000. Minimum deal $50.

Questions

How do I buy a domain name or website with crypto?

Fund an escrow deal first, then let the seller transfer the domain or website to you. Confirm receipt only once it shows in your own registrar or hosting account, so the seller is paid only after you really control it.

What should buyer and seller agree before starting a deal?

Write down exactly what is being sold, the quantity, how and when it will be delivered, and what counts as delivered. Put it in the deal description: clear terms make any dispute quick to decide.

What happens if the seller never delivers?

Do not confirm receipt. Use "Report a problem" on the deal page: the deal is frozen and our team reviews it. If it is settled in your favour, everything you deposited, including the escrow fee, is refunded to your EZY-ESCROW wallet, and you can withdraw it from there.

How much does crypto escrow cost, and who pays the fee?

EZY-ESCROW charges one flat 2% fee, paid by the buyer on top of the deal amount. The seller receives the full amount agreed. The normal blockchain network fee for sending crypto is paid by whoever sends it.

Can a crypto payment be reversed after release?

No. Once crypto is released on the blockchain it cannot be pulled back, which is exactly why the buyer should only confirm receipt after checking that what arrived matches the deal.

How do I spot a fake escrow or middleman scam?

Warning signs: the other person insists on an escrow site you have never heard of, sends you a link instead of letting you type the address, asks you to pay a person's wallet directly, or asks for your password, recovery link or seed phrase. Real escrow never needs any of those.
